04/11/2005: Little Glass of Wine...
Mr. Roboto weighs in the "Reds" (not sports...WINE) in this piece: Red Wine You Make feel So Fine.
My only comment was :
What I've learned to Know and Like about Wines can not be captured by Sideways -- which was a painfully quirky and hard to watch examination of a "friendship" as ever portrayed on the big screen, even the 1994 movie "What Happened was..." notwithstanding as the worst angst "first date" and co-worker friendship situation EVER --
But funny thing was the description of "slight hint of asparagus" which is a Dead-Give-a-way to a spoilt bottle of wine. Never, NEVER drink a bottle of wine that smells like over-ripe asparagus...and you'll thank me for this one "Wine Tip"...trust me.
And I like Jesse Winchester's "Little Glass of Wine" ode to the Red grape.
"Little glass of wine, a good thing you are here,
You're warm on my lips, warm as a tear.
A comfort to the fool who's restless in his mind,
The lover's trusty potion, little glass of wine....
...Little glass of wine sure makes the party gay,
Will seal lover's bargain, will chase the blues away.
So if your feeling low, and you want to rest your mind,
Just run and fetch another little glass of wine.
(Take a short "listen" to this song at this link and for other Jesse Winchester songs to "pre-view" at this link.)
