04/05/2005: The key to a productive opening day:
Courtesy of NashVegas Mets fan Mr. Roboto of Thursday Night Fever: TiVo
I usually take opening day off (or end up watching scores all day at the office), but, thanks to Tivo, I enjoyed a productive day at work today and made sure to stay away from all game updates. Not having the luxury of taking Opening Day off, and a TiVo being a luxury it's easy for me to live without, I relied on XM Satellite Radio's coverage to keep track of opening day games.
Most awesome, however, was that, with Tivo, I was able to watch an entire MLB game in 45 minutes. All the Joe Morgan "weeelll, back in my day" crap? Gone. All the "here's the last 11 pitches" recaps in between pitches? Gone. In fact, the "one arrow" fast forward setting is the perfect speed at which to watch the actual gameplay, with the "two arrow" setting for replays and in between batters.
