03/24/2005: A Hot Dog Program
It's almost time for another Hot Dog Extravaganza Day based on a re-viewing of our taped episode of A Hot Dog Program: An All American, Culinary Cruise Through Hot Dog History.
What WE do at my house is make sure we have lots of Hog Dogs, Buns, plus various and sundry "toppings" all ready chopped and prepared to GO - cause guaranteed by the time you're done watching this program - you MUST have a Hot Dog!!
As an aside: the first time we saw this show my daughters were young children. The show was on at just about their bedtime...But Shure-Nuff we had to rummage the kitchen, get out what ever Hot Dogs and stuff was on hand - and all to satisfy that absolute "craving" for a Hot Dog created by this mouthwatering, epicurean adventure.
So we "recreate" this fun by declaring it "Hot Dog Extravaganza Day" and experience the viewing and eating enjoyment once again.
UPDATE: I had to leave this post as a "comment" on the website and got this back from the Producers of this program:"You McLauchlans are my heroes. Heroines. Whatevers.
Thank you so much for your lovely email. No TV producer can hope for
more than becoming a family tradition.
Not to be too pushy, but might I send you guys a HOT DOG PROGRAM poster
to put up on Hot Dog Extravaganza Days? I will need a "snail mail"
address, and if you'd like the poster signed, I'd need to get a name or
names to whom I should inscribe it.
Thanks again. Have a great Easter weekend. Don't eat too many
chocolate bunnies.
