03/17/2005: Legislative "Busy Work"
About them "Steroid Hearings"...
It does seem like this particular Congress is WAY more interested in producing Legislative "Busy Work" this session, and in the face of numerous urgent and pressing problems. Why else this penchant to champion "bankruptcy" reform, this "thoughtless Federal Shield Law for reporters, or this steroid commission hearings --all to shuffle the more pressing needs to the final whopping last bill (3ft high stack'o'paperwork) to push through with everything they "forgot" about and maybe that kitchen sink (and our personal private record for anyone's access) to pummel through an all nighter session. AGAIN
Steve Chapman had a good one in today's Chicago Tribune: The steroids hearing should be out at first.
Aren't they "working hard for us"...our Congress-critters*?
