03/15/2005: Karen's Trivia Answers
Trivia Answers to this week's two musical trivia questions:
1) In Steely Dan's song "Show Biz Kids" , they're singing "We're going to --blank-blank--…"
What are those words?: "We're going to Lost Wages…" (Sounds like Las Vegas.)
And what do they refer to? It's a reference to going to Las Vegas as being the place where one is likely to experience "Lost Wages"…i.e. gambling away your money in the casinos.
2) What is the historical "inspiration" for Van Morrison's song "It's All In The Game."
This song was inspired from the text of a letter written from a Civil War Soldier to his sweetheart.
It also put me in mind of the "Civil War IAM Lingo" from a few months back -- Courtesy of McSweeney's(Which would have been used if there had been "IAMing" back then…)
