02/01/2005: Memphis Blogger's Bash, v. 4.0....
according
to Rachel, who ought to know even if she did blow off the last Bash
(and as a result lose her title of "Memphis Bloggin' Babe" to Abby).
Barring death, dismemberment or serious bodily injury, I will be there,
so a minimum of 33% of DBV will be represented. At best, a maximum of 67%
is to be expected if Brock shows up. 100% of us being there is exceedingly
unlikely, since Karen's only, at best, an honorary Memphian through association
with us, and I wouldn't expect her to come down from the frozen tundra of
Chicagoland just for something like this. Not that she's unwelcome, of course.
For that matter, any of y'all who might be in the area at the appointed
time feel free to stop by and introduce yourself to Memphis' most sociable,
if not best, bloggers.
The rest of the content I'm going to steal from Mike
Hollihan. Mike may, if he wishes, post a cease and desist letter in
the comments, and if he does I'll yank this post. Somehow, I don't expect
him to do that, though.
Alrighty, we got us a bloggers bash. Here are the final details:I'm also setting the "keep this item at the top o'the blog" bit, since I want to keep this visible a while, and with three of us around content seems to scroll down the page quicker than it did when this was just a solitary operation. That'll last for another few days or so. Meantime, if you're here in Memphis, help us spread the word.
Garibaldi's (near the U of M)
Saturday, February 5th (next Saturday)
7 PM (nighttime is the right time after all)
Thanks to Steve, here are directions: "The address is 3530 Walker. From Midtown, take Central or Poplar east to Highland; turn right, go past the first stoplight (Midland), go to the 2nd left (where Domino's Pizza is) and you will IMMEDIATELY see the sign for Garibaldi's. They are all the way back in the shopping center."

HAHAHA! Who knew?! I can tell you that there will be no staged catfights, whether you like it or not!

No catfights? Then why would I drive all the way from Nashville?

Ahhh, but if we parse Clintonially she said "no staged catfights." That leaves some, uh... wiggle room.
Len, no C&D letter if you give me a 10 cent payment for every page view between now and 7PM Saturday. Fair? ;-)
