01/26/2005: Rats...Jailed Again
One of my FurKids is Chin-Ho who is approx 7 yrs old and one of the most $$$ rodents on earth.
But even while being graced with the most mild disposition in the world (non-aggressive…they don’t even have claws…only soft padded feet), he’s still a rodent and utilizes every non-sleeping rodent moment to thinking of ways to escape.
If you’ve never seen a Chinny…they can have this wobbling, kangaroo type gate almost loping slowing across the floor…then Wham! ...they get going and it’s Speedy Gonzales in action.
They can leap approx. 4 feet in the air, spin on a dime, and race at lightening speed into the smallest space available to evade capture. Luckily they come equipped with an all purpose handle (tail) made of a thick, bristle type material...all the better to catch them with. Oh…and they take the most “adorable” dust baths to keep their lusciously soft, minky fur coat clean & dry.
But…I still don’t appreciate having to play “evade & capture” when someone leaves his door ajar….kids, are you listening to me?......kids??

He looks so pathetic. Viewing the outside with longing. Hoping to escape and destroy something for a nest in some out of the way corner.

Dear Linda: Let's just say that your regular pet store mouse costs about $1...a chinny is about 150-200X more. And :ive already got dibbs on the ears muffs...Does the S.P.C.A have your phone number?
And Bryan...yet but then he'd miss his exercise wheel (he uses it every night.) FYI this photo is how he always greets me...he's actually very loving and we have chinny "conversations" in his "squeak speak."
