01/25/2005: Senator Reid promises not to let Republicans "get in bed" with him...I agree.
Senator Reid is cited as saying, 'If someone wants to privatize Social Security, they are going to have to find someone else to get in bed with other than me,' to a television audience in Nevada recently." (Terence Samuel, "A Leader From The Wilderness," U.S. News & World Report, 11/29/04)
The Republican National Committee strongly dennounced Senator Reid's position on this, stating
...Sen. Reid ...only seems to be promising to continue blocking the American people's priorities. .... that Reid and the Democrats would rather engage in partisan politics than work for their constituents," said Ken Mehlman, Republican National Committee Chairman.
Is Senator Mehlman trying (desperately) to "get in bed" with Senator Reid? Should Senator Reid continue to object? What's the consensus here? You vote America...Yea or Nay. Should Reid allow the RNC to "get in bed" with him?
