01/24/2005: Apropos of the John Ford Show....
(which I recount here for those of you too lazy to scroll the page) I note that the Associated Press picked up the story and ran with it; needless to say it got included in my daily email newsletter from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (yes, I still read the St. Louis paper (especially during baseball season); deal with it) where the Post ran it more or less as a straight wire story. Probably filler, though if the Post editors are smart they ran it in the humor section.
For what it's worth, the AP story is pretty much a regurgitation of the Commercial Appeal story (which gets a passing mention in the AP story) slightly edited to avoid the faint whiff of plagiarism; the CA story was probably better written and was a bit more detailed. Of course, neither was as amusing as my rendition, but I don't have my hands tied: I'm not a professional journo, and I don't even pretend to play one in the blogosphere.

It even made the Rush Limbaugh show today, if you can believe it. Rush later learned that John was Junior's uncle and had fun with that.
