01/24/2005: More sad news....
Actress Ruth Warrick dies at age 88.
To judge from some of the obits, you'll know her as "Phoebe, the patrician matriarch of the Tyler family on ABC's 'All My Children'". To me, she'll always be Emily Norton Kane, the role she played in her motion picture debut: the first wife of Charles Foster Kane in Orson Welles's classic (and my favorite of all time), Citizen Kane.
All that, and a fellow native of the Show-Me State, too.
According to Mark Ramsey at MovieJuice Web Diary, Warrick was the last surviving major cast member of Citizen Kane. Now she's passed on.
Truly the end of an era.
