01/21/2005: Well, it probably won't get me watching American Idol....
which strikes me as one of, if not the stupidest excuse for a TV show since The Dawn Of Time, but a comment at The Birdwatch (by none other than Brian "Redbird Nation" Gunn, himself) notes that Osbourne Earl Smith, Jr. (that's Ozzie Smith, Jr., for those of you not paying close attention) is/was a contestant on American Idol.

According to Sean, one of my partners in crime at The Birdwatch, Ozzie Jr. is pretty good too. I'll swallow my normal distaste for the show, then, and wish him the best of luck in becoming the Next American Idol.
