Dark Bilious Vapors

But how could I deny that I possess these hands and this body, and withal escape being classed with persons in a state of insanity, whose brains are so disordered and clouded by dark bilious vapors....

01/11/2005: Talk about enjoyable jobs....

According to a story reprinted in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Val Kilmer confesses that he was in no hurry to complete his love scenes with Angelina Jolie in Oliver Stone's "Alexander." Even to the point of purposely flubbing his lines, Ananova.com reports.

"My role consisted mostly of sharing a bed with Angelina Jolie and throwing her around in it, which is about as much fun as it is possible for a man to have," Kilmer said. "Don't tell her or Oliver Stone this, but when we were doing the really sexy bits, I kept messing up my lines on purpose. I would get right to the end of the scene and then mess up the last bit so we would have to do it again.

"I spent four months doing that all day and someone paid me millions of dollars for the pleasure."

This engenders in me a similar reaction to the one I had when I first saw the movie Moscow on the Hudson. There's a scene there where Vlad (Robin Williams) is taking a bath with Lucia (Maria Conchita Alonso), his new girlfriend. During that scene an apparently nude Vlad is sitting in the tub, with an apparently nude (definitely topless) Lucia sitting in front of him, laying her back against his chest while he runs his soapy hands over her breasts (Ms. Alonso seemed to be enjoying the scene too, to judge from her very definite nipple erections). During that scene, about all I could do was squirm and think...."Jesus, that lucky bastard's getting paid to do that...."
