01/04/2005: Hollihan returns
After a long hiatus, it appears that the most Memphian of the Memphis bloggers, Mike Hollihan of Half-Bakered, is back in action.
Welcome back, Mike!
Really though, couldn't you find a more suitable icon for the Memphis blogger button than the Pyramid, a defunct sports stadium that was obsolete the day it opened?
Maybe a picture of the trolley station at Madison and Cleveland? No, I guess not.
How about a picture of Mud Island park?

Hey, be glad I didn't pick Raiford's or Dancin' Jimmy or something! I like the Pyramid. It was a con job that still managed to rise to icon status only to fall to another con job. If that's not Memphis, I dunno what is.
BTW, the *trolley*?!?!?! [Chandler Bing voice] Have you been reading my blog? [close voice] ;-)

I share your view of the trolley, Mike. That's why I included it with our other white elephants.
One day I was stuck downtown with no ride home at 5 pm, and I figured I'd catch the eastbound trolley at Madison and Front out to Cleveland. Not seeing one available, I started walking, figuring I'd flag down the first one that passed me.
I walked all the way to Bellevue before I saw an eastbound trolley.
My diagnosis: useless!

Does this mean I can stop reading the Memphis papers now?

Hey! You could do a lot worse than picking Raifords! Winner of TNF's Club of the Year.
Man, I love Raifords.
