12/27/2004: Thought for the Day:
... Newsweek... wondered why it took so long for the networks to "put together a decent show about women and their real lives" (yes, one admires the Dreiserian realism of Wisteria Lane) and declared the show "something of a miracle." Something, indeed. Of course, the standard of miraculousness has obviously declined in days when the image of the Virgin Mary on a piece of toast sells on e-Bay for $28,000.

I wish all the desperate housewives in my neighborhood were Teris, Evas, and Nicolettes. I would have been a lot more ambituous in the lawn cutting business, if they had been.
