12/24/2004: Why?
Today, it appears that the cable channel, American Movie Classics, has basically become "All A Miracle on 34th Street, all the time". At least for today.
Hey, it's a pretty good movie. But showing it again, and again, and again.... all day? I guess nothing exceeds like excess.

One of my happiest Christmas memories is when they withdrew It's a Wonderful Life from the public domain.
There was a virtual channel block with that movie for most of December for years.
Amazingly enough it was hard to find the original Scrooge with Alistair Sim.

I don't have cable, so I miss out on the Xmas movie marathons, but I recall a few years back, while staying at my inlaws' during the holidays, some channel (TNT?) ran an all-day marathon of "A Christmas Story." Now that's a great holiday movie. "You'll put your eye out, kid!"
