12/07/2004: Apropos of my rereading The Right Stuff this week....
I've stumbled across the Roadside America website ("Your Online Guide to Offbeat Tourist Attractions"), and I note that their site of the week is Mitchell, Indiana, and the Gus Grissom Astronaut Tributes honoring Mitchell's most famous son.
As fitting a tribute (if not more so) as naming America's favorite fictional forensic scientist after Gus (though the interesting question, to my mind, is why William Peterson is such an admirer of Grissom vice any one of the other Mercury astronauts).
