11/27/2004: MIA, kinda-sorta....
Actually, when I was in the Navy the term we used was "SIQ"--Sick In Quarters. Doing the family thing for the holiday was pleasant, and it was nice to catch up with some relatives I've not seen in literally decades. However, when I arrived I discovered that my dad had a head cold to end all head colds, and he went and gave it to me (at least it had the decency not to manifest symptoms until Friday).
So today I've been mostly laying in bed, napping and reading, and otherwise trying to get better so that the work week won't bear too much of a resemblance to the third circle of hell. And maybe I'll be past contagiousness by the time I get to work, so I won't spread the bugs around a bit. And of course there's another reason to try to be healthy as soon as possible....
Memphis blogger and web maven extraordinare Eric Janssen of Webraw, Quixtar Blog, and Plug In, is organizing a third Memphis Blogger's Bash at Cafe Francisco on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at a time TBA. I'll try to post the time when I know it, but you can check Webraw at the previous link there to check for yourself too. So far we've only got about 4 committed attendees and one (it looks like) possible/probable, so we are always looking for more folks to come share the fun. Blog ownership isn't required, though Eric does say "it would help if you regularly read blogs". Besides, what could you possibly be doing on a Wednesday night that would be more important, now that baseball season is over?
I'm doing my best to get healthy so I can honor my commitment to show up, so the least y'all can do is come! See you there.....
