that the Cubs may be interested in making a bid for free agent second baseman Tony Womack.
Please do.
Not to take away anything from Womack's contribution to the Cardinals this season, but clearly he had a career year this year (go check his stat card at Baseball Reference; I'll be here when you get back). Speaking of regression towards the mean, it's pretty clear that Womack is probably a prime candidate to show some next season.
I say, better the Cubs get Womack than Renteria.
