[« Thought for the Day:] [And I see I made the right decision.... »]
10/21/2004: My prediction is half wrong....
I'd predicted an Astros-Yankees World Series.
Having made history the day before (no team in baseball postseason play had forced a seventh game after falling behind 0-3), the BoSox decided to make it again, and become the first team to win a best of seven series after losing the first three games. And the Evil Empire falls yet again.
And more importantly for my sanity, we don't have to hear that damned Ronan Tynan singing "God Bless America" for four seventh inning stretches.
And on Morning Sedition this morning, someone made the point that the team from the city that hosted the Democratic National Convention beat the team from the city which hosted the Republican National Convention. And inevitably, someone voices the hope that this is an omen.
But of course then someone else mentions that they think it'll be a Texas-Massachusetts showdown in the World Series.
I hope not.
UPDATE: And the odds change again:
