10/20/2004: Well, this was a first....
Top of the 12th, no out, tied 4-4. Carlos Beltran leading off. Beltran hits a sharp grounder to 1B Albert Pujols.
The first? Albert fields the ball and races to first for an unassisted putout. Beltran slides headfirst into first, as Pujols slides into first to touch the bag.
First time in over 40 years watching baseball that I think I've seen both the fielder and a baserunner slide into the same bag. (Come to think of it, it may be the first time I've seen a fielder slide into the base in order to make a forceout.)
