10/14/2004: 5 down, 6 to go....
as we manage to beat the 'stros 6-4. This one was more of a nailbiter, as the Astros led until the bottom of the 5th, when the Cards posted 4 runs to take a one run lead. The Astros tied it in the top of the 7th. But then both Albert "The Great" Pujols and Scott Rolen went yard back-to-back in the bottom of the 8th, and gave us a lead for Izzy to save. Julian Tavarez gets the win after Kiko Calero blew the save in the top of the 7th.
The really great news: Rolen went yard twice. It's looking like he's jacked in after his disappointing start in the NLDS.
It won't bother me so much if Clemens beats us this next time out. But with luck, if he doesn't pitch a complete game, 2 hit shutout, we might yet be able to beat up on their bullpen a bit more. Things look good.

Rolen sure knows how to put an end to a slump...

That's why he's an all star, and I'm just a cubicle monkey. Or, I would be if only I had a cubicle.
That and the fact that I never could hit a curveball.
