10/08/2004: And let's hope this ain't a jinx....
At Baseball Prospectus, Clay Davenport is running Monte Carlo simulations of the postseason. Right now, his simulations are projecting the Cards with the best chance of winning it all this year. Before you start ordering the champaign (or, if you're not backing the Cards, sharpening the razor for the ceremonial wrist slashing), keep in mind that the best chance is still only a tad over 30% at this juncture. So there's plenty of baseball yet to play.....
