Owing to a particularly vicious comment spammer infesting my archived posts, I've disabled comment posting in archive entries. That means that you won't be able to see the comments in archived entries now, much less make comments on archived entries. I don't think that's going to be much of a problem though, since both of my regular readers seem to make comments only on the entries on the main blog page; the only archive comments I've been seeing have all been comment spam. However, save for comment spams I don't think that's going to be a big problem. Over the next few days/weeks/whatever, I'm probably going to delete those spam comments (they're still there in the Greymatter "database", just not visible on the archive pages.
I love this "blame the victim" justification that the spammer put in each of his spam comments:
*People posting to these types of boards are ruining SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as we know it. If the owner of this site is interested in curbing this problem, please obtain another script that does not allow HTML or that requires verification and you will stop the endless advertizing on this board. Otherwise people will continue to do this indefinitely. Or perhaps you don't mind?* Its far better to exchange links! Won't you please? You gotta love this reasoning: "Hey, it's your fault that Google's including blogs in their search ranking algorithm; if you don't want me to spam you it's up to you to prevent it."
My response: "Eat shit and die, spammer. Preferably excruciatingly painfully over a long, long time."
[Pardon my French, but this is an emotional issue for me.]

I am new to this site, I found it through Qblog ( webraw ) I see a lot of reference to Memphis here. I am from Memphis also. Anyway, I am rather entertained by your posts and plan to visit often.

Welcome aboard. The Memphis references arise from the fact that I live in the Bluff City. Though if you hang around for a bit, you'll notice that I probably make reference quite a bit more to St. Louis, Missouri (or as I like to refer to it, "Paradise on the Mississippi"). That's because I'm a St. Louis native, and I've got a theory that native St. Louisans aren't truly happy anywhere else.
And given the kind of season they've had this year, you'll see a lot of references to the St. Louis Cardinals. As I often say, "I'm a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and Cardinals Baseball is my religion."
