09/18/2004: Thought for the Day:
In a way, The Alamo reminds me greatly of the Little Big Horn or the shootings at Columbine High School. They were in reality spectacularly meaningless incidents, but served to captivate public imagination, and influence historical events that followed. But in and of themselves, they don't really offer that much in the way of lessons, just yet another example of the folly of human failings. We always want these events to mean more than they really do, so we blow them out of all proportion.
