The Good Matty Mo came out in force tonight, and dominated the Dodgers, allowing only two hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks in a complete game shutout, 3-0. One highlight (at least for me), a rare (# 5 for the season) home run by Mike Matheny. With the victory, Morris goes to 15-8 for the year, and the Cardinals become the first team in MLB to reach 90 victories for the season. A very quick victory for Morris; the official time was only an hour and 58 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Cubs have had at least two of this weekend's games in Florida postponed owing to inclement weather (though it strikes me that calling Hurricane Frances "inclement weather" is one of the more outrageous understatements that have been made since Albert Pujols said that he thought he could hit major league pitching), so no chance for the Marlins to help our cause for a while.
