[« We knew all along, didn't we?] [Thought for the Day: »]
08/30/2004: Back in St. Louis, the Riverfront Times has a pair of interesting articles...
about new (well, relatively new) St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke. Apparently, Burke, pillar of Catholic rectitude that he is (he's well known recently for trying to get other Catholic bishops to go along with his doctrine of withholding communion to Catholic politicians who take public positions in favor of the right to choose abortion), has a history of covering up clergy sex-abuse cases in his previous posting as Bishop of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and (and I should praise him for his liberality and open-mindedness here) of receiving the final vows of a nun who, in fact, had been born a man and received sex reassignment surgery to become a woman.
