08/19/2004: This is not good news....
While "researching" the previous entry I noticed some very, very bad news on the mlb.com website: Owners approve Selig extension; Commissioner's contract runs through 2009
Bud Selig, commissioner of baseball through 2009!!!! Why the only thing worse would be George W. Bush's reelection!
Unfortunately, that disaster is all too probable, too.
Emigration starts looking better all the time.

How about George W. Bush a commissioner of Major League Baseball?

Actually, there is a school of thought that suggests that was Dubya's original career plan, and that he ran for president simply to help fill out his resume and make a few connections along the way.
I have a feeling, personally, that Dubya has regard for the game, and that he couldn't possibly be as bad a commissioner as Selig has been.
