07/29/2004: Then again, there's something to be said for inability....
From today's Billy-Ball newsletter:
The Cardinals just can’t figure out a way to lose. Last night against the Reds, their pitchers walked 13, they blew a seven-run lead and still managed to beat Cincy, 11-10. Despite the fact that St. Louis starter Jeff Suppan walked a career-high 10 in 4 2-3 innings, Scott Rolen hit two homers as St. Louis beat the Reds for the 11th time in 13 games. The game took 3 hours, 55 minute.s The Cardinals are the best road team in baseball at 34-16 - even better than their 31-20 mark at home. The Cardinals are now 42-14 since May 17 and have an 11-game lead over Chicago in the NL Central.
