music: Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto
For some reason, earlier today I'd been contemplating in my mind a snatch of music from the soundtrack to the movie The Right Stuff (IIRC, it's the music that plays towards the very end of the flick, as I believe it's Scott Carpenter who is riding the last Mercury capsule to become, for the nonce, the hottest of hot shots at the top of the aviation pyramid) and wondering where exactly it was from (and hoping that I could hear it again sometime soon).
Lo and behold, XM Classics to the rescue: the sequence is from Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, which is now playing as I type this.
