06/16/2004: Blogger's Bash recap....
Not that I have a lot to say (the Four Legged Princess is giving me That Look--the one that tells me "Your landlord is not going to like you very much after I deposit this organic matter on the carpet, which I will do unless you take me outside NOW") but I at least want to get down what I can remember before the ravages of incipient senility and three large wheat beers drive it all out of my head.
It's very nice to put names to faces, and we had a few new faces to acquaint ourselves with. Old timers Mike "Half Bakered" Hollihan (as befits the moving force behind the Blogger's Bash), Chris Lawrence (the Mississippi "half" (by mere numbers) or 9/10ths (by posting volume) of Signifying Nothing), and Eric Janssen of Webraw, Quixtar Blog and Plug In assisted Your Humble Narrator in maintaining a sense of continuity, Brock Sides (Tennessee's contribution to Signifying Nothing) dropped in to say hello, and newcomers Rachel "and the City" Hurley and Peggy Phillip, and "reformed liberal" Darren of AlphaPatriot (at least that's the name I remember; if my incipient senility botched it please let me know via email and I'll correct this posthaste) helped make things fresh and different. There was excellent conversation, good food in a new venue (The Blue Monkey was Someplace I'd Never Been Before), and I was able to partake of some excellent wheat beer (something I don't get enough of). All in all, a dignified insurrection well deserving of
