[« The state of the Cardinals farm system...] [Maybe the Cubs should try this? »]
05/19/2004: Gem o'the Day:
I'm going to call it early today; I am rather fond of this little passage from Josh Shultz at Go Cardinals!:
In many ways a mediocre team is the worst kind of team in the world. A great team you can cheer for, a bad team you can bash (Those poor bastards [i.e., Seattle Mariners fans --LRC], they spent the entire offseason bemoaning Bavasi's moves, and now that it's even worse than they expected they are in a frenzy. If I was Bill Bavasi I'd slip the checker at Home Depot a few bills once a week with instructions to call in the event of a run on torches and pitchforks, just to be safe).
