It's all in the reading of the lines.... From an email correspondent:
I recently watched Patrick Stewart being interviewed by Michael Parkinson. It seems he was born and raised in Yorkshire (as was Parky, of course) and they had much fun with how he would have played the role if he had used his native accent and not the resonant received standard English "Shakespearean" voice he uses. (Eh, oop, trooble wi' space ship.)
