Dark Bilious Vapors

to criticize the open source demi-gods over at Mozilla's Firefox program, but.....

While Firefox is awesome (it took all of about 7-10 minutes of using it for me to make it my default browser on all my Winblows machines--take that Gates and Ballmer!!!), I've noticed a glaring inconsistency between the Winblows and Linux versions of Firefox. When you're using Firefox in Windows and a dialog box pops up, the standard ordering of buttons appears to be "OK" on the left, and "Cancel" on the right. When I fire up Firefox in Linux, I notice that the order is reversed, with "Cancel" on the left and "OK" on the right. Since I generally bounce between Winblows machines (at work) and Linux boxen (at home) constantly, I drift into autopilot and haphazardly click the button that's in the location of the button I want based on the machine I was using last.... which means that first thing in the morning I'm clicking wrong for the first three or four times (or more, depending on how quickly I ingest my morning coffee) until I remember that I'm on my Winblows box, and the first thing in the evening I'm clicking wrong again as I'm getting used to being back on Linux (unless'n, of course, I'm doing a little of the "work from home" thing which requires me to boot my home box into Winblows...).

Um, while Emerson did say that a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, there are times where consistency isn't foolish, guys.... And this is one of them.
