From The Baseball Widow, we get this one: Jays acquire Clapp from Indians As The Widow commented: "I hope they at least bought them dinner first."

However, this story has a Memphis connection: the "Clapp" mentioned here is Stubby Clapp, who played for the Redbirds for the first two years I spent in Memphis (interrupted by a call up to St. Louis during the second season). Stubby was a fan favorite, and the good news is that he's still in the game. The bad news is that he was playing in Triple-A for the Indians, and will be starting out in Double-A for the Jays organization. I'm sorry to hear about the demotion. Realistically, Stubby wasn't a great player, but he played his heart out, and the Memphis fans appreciated that.
